ʻĀhui Hala Sticker

$6.00

2.9" x 3" Die-Cut ʻĀhui Hala (Pandanus tectorius) Stickers

(UV-protected, water-proof, weather-proof)

ʻĀhui hala are the fruit clusters of the hala plant (Pandanus tectorius). Hala fruits come in various shades of green, yellow, and red, making them strikingly beautiful fruits. ʻĀhui hala reminds me of Kauhi from the story of Kahalaopuna who rests in a pūhala grove and picks up an ʻāhui hala on his way to confront Kahalaopuna at her home in Mānoa.

One of my favorite uses of hala fruit is lei made to commemorate transformative events like graduations or funerals (the word “hala” can mean “to pass”).
